Summary:

Time Domain Thermoreflectance (TDTR) is an ultrafast pump-probe technique that utilizes a femtosecond laser to probe the temperature as a function of time in thin films and nanoparticles. A typical TDTR measurement makes use of a thin metallic transducer to absorb the pump beam, which will then change its reflectivity due to thermoreflectance. As the heat dissipates through the sample, the reflectance is measured by the probe beam with sub-picosecond resolution. MNTTL also has the capability to measure samples using advanced techniques such as Transient Absorption and TR-MOKE. A heated cryostat allows for control of the sample environment.
